BKLYN-BORN. BKLYN-BASED. BKLYN-CENTRIC.
From Boerum Hill to Bergen Beach. Fort Greene to Flatlands. Cobble Hill to Canarsie. It's only Brooklyn when you count every neighborhood and every community.
The Art of Brooklyn Film Festival is the first to showcase emerging filmmakers who are Brooklyn-born, Brooklyn-based and Brooklyn-centric. We are as diverse, vital and international as the borough itself.
“The Brooklyn movie scene is certainly no small potato... But like many arts events in the borough, film festivals often hover over select neighborhoods and communities, giving filmgoers only the smallest taste of how diverse and varied Brooklyn truly is. The Art of Brooklyn Film Festival aims to change all that.”

“Seeking to promote Kings County’s cinematic indie cred, the second season of this showcase features 54 independent filmmakers—both first-timers and Hollywood vets — who have lived and worked in the borough.”
"[The 2012 Art of Brooklyn Film Festival] was explosively popular, attracting professional actors and community members alike in support of the mission of its parent nonprofit, Art of Brooklyn, which cultivates a forum through which young artists can express themselves through different art media within Brooklyn."
